I've heard from countless sources original or sector9 or gravity was the best overall board, but no one can seem to tell me facts, it all seems like personal opinion. So it would really help me in deciding what longboard to buy if someone had non-biased facts about the brands. thanks!

There is not such thing as a "best" longboard brand. It is all personal opinion, but there are better brands than others.

Sector 9 and Gravity are okay beginner boards.

Sector 9's are widely available, but their quality is not that great.

Gravity's quality is nicer than Sector 9.

Originals are flexy boards with a unique truck system. Orignal's trucks require a lot of maintenance and cannot be taken to higher speeds, so much of the longboarding community does not like Originals.

I would recommend looking at brands such as Earthwing, Landyacthz, Comet, Bombsquad, Jet, Rayne, and Never Summer.

Sites like these will give you a better idea of what good brands are out there:

This is a question that is hard NOT to be biased on, as there are so many different makers and designs for longboards. This question boils down to: What are you using it for? Some boards are meant for bombing, while others are for carving. Some boards are for experienced/advanced riders and others are for beginners and crusing around town. For overall quality, at a low cost, Sector 9 or Gravity are both great brands. If you are looking for something more-or-less on the cheaper priced boards, check out both companies websites: http://sector9.com/ and http://www.gravityboard.com/

The websites will give you a wide selection of different style boards and a description of what that particular board is good for.

If you are trying to drop a little extra dough on a more advanced style board, try the companies: Landyachtz or Loaded They make really nice, top-of-the-line, professional long boards. Their sites are: http://www.landyachtz.com/ and www.loadedboards.com

Again, the question isn't exactly "Which brand is best?" because that comes down to opinion, but rather check out different styles of boards from the companies and read the descriptions of them. See what you like best. You can'y go wrong with Gravity or Sector 9, but there are plenty of companies with smaller names that can deliver quality boards, too. Such as NeverSummer or FlexDex. Check the "source" I use, if you are still struggling after all this. Good Luck !

a buddy of mine has a neversummer fast and that i've got ridden it and it feels good in case you like a carving board and that i additionally own a gravity drop kick that i like plenty. For downhill or sliding i'm not probably specific yet I plan on getting an earthwing stick insect 8 ply and 40 inches through fact it has an excellent style of fantastic comments
