Hi Joe,
The basic elements of a paintball hit is FPS ( feet per second ) and Distance. I will not get in detail on the other elements, for example the quality of paintballs.
To start, every field has a legal velocity (FPS) on all their player's markers. Our field in Quebec has a maximum velocity of 280FPS, we can't negotiate with that number. If someone manages to enter a field without getting checked ( extremely rare ) he could be in trouble if he shot someone real hard. Our field has all the equipment necessary to check if one can enter their fields or not.
Moving on, distance is self-explanatory. Longer you get shot, less it will sting. Closer you get shot, more will it sting and could be a nasty bruise.
Now to go back to your main question : It will sting like a rubberband to the stomach. But trust me on this, when your adrenaline pumps while your on the field looking like a complete Badass, you almost won't feel the paintball hitting you. It just feels like a quite sting that will be gone in seconds.Plus, Battle bruises are SICK! You have the pride of saying, Yeah! I fought in that field for my team !
Hope this helped,
Kind regards,
Avex
