Specs Crosman Quest 1000X

Crosman Storm XT

If for some reason you have to buy one of those two, I would take the Quest 1000X

Compare to RWS 34 Panther

IMO this is the best value air rifle you can buy.

Later: They are NOT the same length & weight and the Quest does have an adjustable trigger. The Quest is shorter(45" to 49") and lighter(6lb to 7lb) than the Storm XT. The Quest requires 31.5lbs cocking effort to 28lbs for the Storm, which is telling to anyone who knows airguns. Both guns include a scope stop, not just the Storm. A variable power scope is fine, as is a fixed power it's more a matter of preference.

If I were buying a Crosman air rifle, and the choice was limited to the two you are asking about, I would get the Storm XT.

It comes with a more powerful -- and adjustable -- scope, and the trigger is not only a two-stage (usually means it releases the safety with a slight pull), it is adjustable for pull weight as well. It also has a "scope stop", which helps prevent the scope moving when you shoot the rifle.

Both rifles are spring-powered "break barrel" rifles, meaning the barrel itself is the cocking mechanism and therefor single-shot only, and both are rated for the same FPS. They are both the same weight, the same length, the same everything -- except for the scope, the "scope stop" and the trigger.

There is nothing "wrong" with Crosman airguns, they are at least accurate -- and you won't have to shell out $300 or more for one.

Crosman is crap. I would buy better quality.
