Venture trucks are not heavy, get the scale out before you say something like that. Independent trucks are way heavier.
Also, "Stick to a brand that exclusively makes trucks". Wow your wrong. Royal, Destructo, Silver, Thunder.... who do you think owns each on of these companies. I'll give you a hit, all three are owned by companies that also make decks, wheels and clothing.
Now for the original question, if your looking for a solid truck try something simple like Raw Ventures or Raw Indies, you'll save a ton on each. Do not get them at CCS or Zumies (CCS is owned by footlocker and Zumies is a clown shop). Go to a skater owned store and talk with somebody.

Grind Kings are great, Tensors are great, Independents are good, Krux are good, Ventures are durable but way too heavy (even the venture "super lights". They are NOT LIGHT AT ALL), Destructos are kinda cheap. I skate Krux's right now and I like them, but I miss my old Grind Kings.
Stay away from Element trucks or any other brands that make decks or shoes or something. Stick to a brand that exclusively makes trucks.
