I have two 1970's recurve bows labelled as "Super Flite Collegiate 30# by Darton". I am looking for the correct string length and type.

Also, is there a good place to order online?

On the bow should be a marker to indicate the bow length. usually 62", 64" or 66" and so on. To get the string length you take the bow length minus 3", so string length for a 66" bow is 63".

You can go on Darton's website to make sure if the bow can take fast flight string. But to be safe I'd go with dacron string. You can order them from K1-archery.com, he makes great strings. Just shoot him an email.

Historically, there has been a rule to never leave a bow strung. With wooden bows, this is still true. So, you need to get someone to un-string it for you. However, many modern composite bows are perfectly fine to be left strung. You need to check with the manufacturer. When you drive your car home after work, do you jack it up on blocks for the night?
